With So Many Free Web-sites & Classifies Why Pay a Fee?

Peace of Mind. Time. Convenience. Rhode Island Nanny has started the work for you. By personally interviewing all the candidates in our database we have weeded out many candidates who you would have to take the time to weed out yourself. We are parents like you; each candidate in our database has to be someone we feel we could trust with our own children. Each candidate has to present to us 3 written references with contact information. We contact and talk to each reference and give you access to each reference.

What are you criteria for screening nanny candidates & sitters?

Our first is a natural affection for children. We must see and get a feeling the candidate actually loves working with children. You would not believe how many candidates we interview each month that appears to want to do anything BUT work with children. Next we find out if they actually understand the Responsibilities of a Nanny. We have met candidates who Do Not Cook, Do Not want to drive children activities, Do Not want to do the children’s laundry and believe they deserve $20 an hour. You will not have the pleasure of meeting any of those candidates through us. All candidates in our database are at least 18 years old. We do not deal with the teenage babysitters.

Will it take me that long to find a Nanny?

The search for a nanny can be short or long. Some families start the search months before they need a nanny, some start the search the week before. Our database is constantly updated the prefect nanny for you might not be here this week but check back a week later and there is your prefect nanny. Even after you find a nanny being a member has its benefits. Looking for someone to fill in for your nanny’s vacation? Your nanny can’t work the weekend you have a wedding to attend. Go to our Temp/Sitter database and click onto you town. It’s six months after you have hired your nanny and she decides to move to New York with her boyfriend. A list of new candidates are just a few clicks away.

We do not need a full-time nanny only the occasional sitter, is this site
for us?

YES! We know how hard it is finding a sitter you can trust. Each of the Temp Nannies & Sitters in our database have been personally interview by us, have at least 3 written references. Also we have a comment rating system in our Temp Nanny/ Sitter database. Read the comments of the families who have used the nanny/ sitter before.

If I can find nanny candidates that meet my needs in the Sneak Peek why do I need a membership?

In the Sneak Peek you do not have full access to the candidate’s bio. We have the Sneak Peek so you see if enough candidates meet your criteria before becoming a member. Remember the database is constantly changing so if there are not enough candidates to make membership beneficial to you at the time try back at a later date. With Membership Access you can access the candidate’s references and contact them via e-mail. The Sneak Peek does not allow you to see their references or contact them.

What is a Last Minute Sitter? And why would I need one?

A Last Minute Sitter is some one you will use with less then 24 hours notice. To qualify for Last Minute Sitter status the pre-screened sitter/nanny had to pay a fee to help cover the cost of a back ground check which may be viewed in their profile. They must be willing to check their messages often and get in touch in a timely manner with the families that need them. You may be in a position to need a Last Minute Sitter if you need to go to work but have a child that has a slight bug and can not go to Day Care. Maybe you have a wedding to go to and your regular sitter canceled the night before. When contacting a Last Minute Sitter we recommend leaving a contact number in you initial e-mail so speed up the process, have a thorough phone interview with them, and schedule to have them arrive to your house up to an hour earlier then they are needed so you can both get comfortable with the situation.

Do we need a contract with the nanny?

Yes, we highly recommend it. It is good for both parties to have everything in writing. You can use a lawyer or make your own. Make sure both parties have a copy.

You may down load a sample Employment Agreement.
